Job Title: Service Technician/Mechanic

Job Type: Full-Time

Department: Shop

Reports to: President/Service Manager

 Job Purpose: To assemble, repair and/or maintain agricultural and lawn and garden equipment as required and to assist other shop personnel as needed.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality work as assigned by service manager in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform small & large engine maintenance, welding, fabricating, hydraulic repair, and mechanical work as required by the service order or contract.
  • Repair sprayers, planters, irrigation reels, trucks, mowers, and pumps as needed.
  • Assemble new equipment and set-up for sale or display.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding issues with equipment, as well as answer service-related questions from customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Complete all required paperwork, work orders and time tickets in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Assist coworkers when required.
  • Keep updated on job knowledge by participating in schools and other educational opportunities.
  • Maintain all company tools and equipment.
  • Exhibit personal and professional integrity at all times.
  • Create and maintain safe working environment at all times.

 Experience, Education, Skills & Knowledge:

  • Previous experience with small engine maintenance required
  • Briggs & Stratton certified mechanic preferred but not required
  • Basic electrical knowledge in AC & DC circuits and ability to use a voltmeter
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own form of transportation

Job Title: Parts Clerk

Job Type: Full-time

Department: Parts

Reports to: Parts Manager

 Parts Clerk Job Purpose: Provides customer service through point-of-sale transactions, as well as phone inquiries, distributes, ships, receives, and inventories required parts under supervision of Parts Manager.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interacts with clients, knowing their specifications and offering them with the best products.
  • Attends telephone inquiries; offers important information to clients and takes orders.
  • Gives clients all information regarding the available products.
  • Ensuring proper billing and receiving payments by working within bookkeeping protocol.
  • Unloads trucks and signs for shipments; inspects for damage and returns if necessary.
  • Assists in shipping and receiving by unpacking/packing boxes, stocks parts on shelves.
  • Distributes parts/supplies at counter following protocol.
  • Provides required parts to shop for service work orders.
  • Conducts physical count of parts/supplies for cycle inventory.
  • Ensures the appropriate storage space and stock of all parts.
  • Advises Parts Manager of stock outs and low stock problems based on inventory system data or visual inspection.
  • Assist in warranty claims and parts returns.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.

 Job Skills/Requirements: Good oral communication skills, Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions, General computer database knowledge, Basic mechanical knowledge, Basic inventory, math, and communication skills, Strong attention to details, Knowledge of agricultural equipment preferred, Ability to work extended hours (occasionally) and Saturday mornings (seasonally).

 Key Competencies: The ability to speak in a courteous and informative manner to customers on the telephone, Basic computer skills, Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly.

 Salary: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour depending on experience
